2. Overview
We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide this website, to answer your inquiries and to understand, in anonymised form, how our website is used. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not create user profiles and we do not sell data.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website and our web analytics are hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, on servers in Germany. IONOS processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
When you visit the website, the server automatically records technical information: the page or file requested, the time of access, the referring page, the browser type and version, the operating system, the device type and your IP address. According to IONOS, the IP address is stored only in anonymised form and the log data is deleted after 8 weeks.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and stable operation of the website.
4. Encryption
This website uses TLS encryption (recognisable by "https://" in the address bar). Data you send to us, for example through the contact form, cannot be read by third parties in transit.
5. Session cookie
Our website sets a single, technically necessary cookie ("PHPSESSID"). It contains a random identifier and is used to protect the contact form against misuse. It is deleted automatically when you close your browser.
Storing this cookie is permitted without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), as it is strictly necessary for the service you request. The legal basis for the related processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
6. Contacting us
If you contact us via the form on our website or by e-mail, we process your e-mail address, the content of your message and the time of sending in order to answer your inquiry. Messages sent via the form are stored in our database and forwarded to our e-mail inbox; both are hosted by IONOS (see section 3).
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry relates to the conclusion or performance of a contract, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise; our legitimate interest lies in responding to inquiries addressed to us.
We delete your data once your inquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial, tax or professional law) require longer storage. Information you send us is treated confidentially in accordance with our professional duty of confidentiality.
7. Web analytics with Matomo
We use the open-source software Matomo to analyse the use of our website. Matomo runs on our own server at IONOS in Germany; the data is not passed on to Matomo or any other third party.
Matomo is configured in a privacy-friendly way:
- No cookies are set and no other information is stored on your device.
- Your IP address is shortened by two bytes before it is stored (e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx), so that it can no longer be linked to you.
- If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, your visit is not recorded.
- Visits are not merged across devices and no user profiles are created.
The following data is processed: the pages viewed, the time of access, the referring page, the browser, operating system and device type, the browser language, the approximate country (derived from the shortened IP address), and interactions such as switching the language, clicking contact links or sending the contact form. Raw data is automatically deleted after 6 months; only aggregated statistics are kept after that.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the anonymised analysis of how our website is used in order to improve it. You can object to this processing at any time by activating the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser or by contacting us.
8. Map on the contact page
Our contact page shows a map of our office location. To display it, the map library Leaflet is loaded from unpkg.com, which is delivered via the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), and the map tiles are loaded from the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom). In the process, your IP address and technical browser information are transmitted to these providers.
Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; for the United Kingdom, an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in an easy-to-find presentation of our location. Further information: privacy policy of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.
9. LinkedIn
Our website contains a simple link to our LinkedIn page. No data is transmitted to LinkedIn when you visit our website. Only when you click the link are you taken to LinkedIn, where the privacy policy of LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company applies.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
- have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
- receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, simply contact us using the details in section 1.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (www.baden-wuerttemberg.datenschutz.de).
11. Further information
You are not obliged to provide personal data; however, without your e-mail address we cannot answer your inquiry. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
We may update this privacy policy when our website or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available on this page.
